Christmas rugby: Referees, ARs & TMOs

As it’s Christmas weekend, there’s not a great deal around the global space, but we do have (as this is published) a full run of Gallagher Premiership and Top 14, the majority of the URC and RFU Championship fixtures, as well as a Premier 15s match too to make a great double-header at Twickenham on Monday. There’s also some Premiership Cup games next Wednesday as well.
As I type, there is due to be a full fixture list across all these leagues next weekend, but new covid restrictions around the UK, Ireland and France may change matters. Will update you next week!

In France, Luc Ramos (top left) will referee the Top v Bottom match as Toulon host Bordeaux. Wayne Barnes has what’s billed as Big Game 13 at Twickenham where Harlequins play Northampton. In the other match at Twickenham, Nikki O’Donnell referees the Harlequin Women v Wasps.

The eagle eyed among you may spot some new names on the Assistant Referee front in the Gallagher Premiership, with Simon Adams, James Clark, Nick Wood, and Dan Jones all getting some top level ARing-action for the first time this weekend. Congrats to you all!
