In the final weekend of the Aviva Premiership’s regular season, Wayne Barnes has his 199th English top-level fixture as he looks after the crucial Sale v Leicester fixture. The clash sees two sides battling over the last top-six slot which will see them qualify for Champions Cup rugby next season. Barnes will have his Champions Cup final team of ARs JP Doyle and Tom Foley and Rowan Kitt in the TMO truck. Elsewhere in England, it’s the old military battle as the Army take on the Navy at Twickenham. Tim Wigglesworth has the honour this year.
In Super Rugby, round 12 kicks-off on Friday night in Rotorua as the Chiefs take their match against Jaguares to the regions, where Mike Fraser will have the whistle. On Saturday Nic Berry is in charge of the intriguing battle between the Hurricanes and Lions in Wellington. Jaco Peyper is in Australia to referee the Waratahs versus Blues match that has been moved to the Brookvale Oval in Sydney. Glen Jackson has the whistle for the all South African clash between the Stormers and Bulls in Cape Town that neither team can afford to lose in the race for the finals.
In the Pro14, there’s semi-final places at stake as the experienced pair of Nigel Owens and George Clancy oversee Munster v Edinburgh and Scarlets v Cheetahs respectively.
France hits it’s final league weekend too with Montpellier already securing top spot. Toulouse and Racing 92 both secured victories in the race for the semi-finals but it is the Parisians who hold the advantage going into Round 26. Racing 92’s match against Agen will be refereed by Pierre Brousset (pictured on left), with Toulouse travel to Clermont overseen by Tual Trainini (pictured right).
