Another quiet weekend on the global rugby front but one big women’s final takes place, plus the welcome return of the domestic New Zealand competitions. At the Leichhardt Oval in Sydney, the pan-Tasman Women’s finale takes place as the winners of Australia’s Super W take on the winners of NZ’s Super Rugby Aupiki. Ella Goldsmith (pictured top left) takes her team of 4 with her from the Super W final in Fiji last weekend as the Waratahs play host the Blues from Auckland – congrats all round.
The NPC resumes for a new season in New Zealand and there’s some familiar faces in the list as they kick off. One newer name is Fraser Hannon (bottom right) who takes the whistle in the Wellington v Hawke’s Bay match.
The only other action is in South Africa who move to round 2 of the Currie Cup (Dylen November – top right – refs the Stormers v Sharks match) and the Women’s Prem 2 continues. Yohane Tredoux (bottom left) referees the Pumas Women v SWD Eagirls tie.
