In Australia, it’s the final round of the Oceania Rugby Women’s Championships, with WXV slots being decided. Heading into Sunday’s final round, whoever wins the Fiji v Samoa match will claim the championship title and a place in WXV 2, alongside Scotland, Japan and South Africa. The losing team will compete in WXV 3 with Ireland, Kazakhstan and Kenya. Ella Goldsmith (top left) of Australia will referee that one.
It’s the final round of the Super Rugby Pacific regular season with the Chiefs already having the top slot sown up. Nic Berry (bottom left) will oversee their final match away in Perth. With the top eight in the league qualifying for the play offs, the weekend’s focus is on race for the final three slots. There’s five teams chasing for three spaces. Matches to keep an eye on!
Up North, most of the leagues have wrapped up for the season. But not in France, where, as is custom, there’s various play offs to determine the Top14 winner in a few weeks. The top two finishers in the league (Stade Rochelais and Stade Toulouse) are waiting to play the winners of this weekend’s two matches from those who finished in positions 3-6. Pierre Brousset (top right) and Ludo Cayre will referee the matches at Stade Francais and Lyon. There’s still plenty to play for in the US MLR. Luke Rogan will referee the league leaders San Diego Legion away in Chicago and there’s round 6 of the Women’s Premier League from the US too. Finally this week, it’s Currie Cup round 13 – Griffin Colby (bottom right), Marius van der Westhuizen, Morne Ferreira and AJ Jacobs are all in action.
