Arguably, the most important game of the weekend is in Aix-en-Provence where the final of the Africa Cup will take place. Host country arbitre, the Frenchman, Ludo Cayre (pic top left) will referee the Kenya v Namibia finale. As part of the ramp-up towards RWC23, the winner of the Africa Cup becomes “Africa 1” in Pool A, alongside France, New Zealand, Italy and Uruguay.
The summer international series heads into Test 2 weekend, with some more established names with the whistle – Jaco Peyper, Angus Gardner (bottom right), Andrew Brace, Nic Berry, Mike Adamson and Mathieu Raynal all in the middle this weekend.
Elsewhere, we see the start of a build up towards RWC21(in 22), as an Oceania women’s series begins, hosted by Australia. Larissa Woolerton (top right) becomes NZ’s 7th female test referee on Saturday as Samoa play Tonga. She will be joined by Samoan referee, Avii Faalupega Magele (bottom left) in overseeing the test series.
