It’s June already and as we kick off the summer international series in New Zealand (women’s PAC4), there’s some end-of-season highlights to bring challenges to referees, ARs and TMOs alike. Before Lauren Jenner (NZ, pic bottom left) and Sara Cox (Eng) whistle the first of the PAC4 matches on Monday, France’s Laurent Cardona (top left) has the big final of the weekend. The winners of the ProD2 Final between Stade Montois and Bayonne will be heading for a place in the Top 14 in the year of the Rugby World Cup, so there’s a lot to play for! Good luck Laurent! In England, it’s the final of the AP15s, the top women’s league. Harry Walbaum (top right) will be in charge of Saracens and Exeter Chiefs on Friday.
Quarterfinal time in Super Rugby and the URC. Brendon Pickerill, Nic Berry, Angus Gardner and Paul Williams are the four in charge in the South. URC officials, Jaco Peyper and Andrea Piardi are in Ulster and Leinster respectively, with Andrew Brace and Frank Murphy refereeing the two matches on South African soil. It’s the final round of the regular season in the US MLR, Premiership and the Top 14 and there’s both some important games for the players, but also a chance for some referees to get valuable game time.
