It’s the second weekend of this set of European cup competitions, and the referees are all on the move as well. Dan Jones (above left) of Wales will be hoping the snowy blast that has hit the north of England today washes away overnight as he is due to referee Newcastle v Toulon.
Speaking of snow, Joy Neville will be hoping for better luck in Northampton as they host the Romanian side from Timisoara. You may remember they (Timisoara) were fined before Christmas for failing to ready their pitch ahead of a three foot snow fall (or having a back up plan) which caused that game to be cancelled. The forecast for the East Midlands looks more promising!
Down in a 24 degree Port Elizabeth, and with the two South African teams in the Pro14 not required this weekend in Europe, the Southern Kings play the Cheetahs play each other in the Pro14. An all South African team of 4 will oversee that with Quinton Immelman (above right) taking the whistle.
