It’s a Happy New Year for all our readers and we hope you have the 2019 you deserve to have. The referees have recovered from their new year celebrations and are back out on duty this weekend in the Top 14 in France, the Premiership in England and the Pro14 circuit resumes with the South African sides back from their winter break.

In the Gallagher Premiership, England’s most experienced official is back in action as Wayne Barnes referees his 208th top flight match. It’s a trip to Welford Road for him and his AR and TMO team as they play Gloucester who will be hoping to bounce back from a defeat at home to Sale last week.
