We’ve already brought you news of the officials for the Premiership and Pro14 finals, but that doesn’t mean there’s aren’t big games elsewhere. In France, Lyon hosts the two Top14 semi-finals as Pascal Gaüzère and Alexandre Ruiz referee Montpellier v Lyon and Racing v Castre respectively. Their compatriot, Mathieu Raynal has the traditional opening game in the summer international series as England play the BaaBaas at Twickenham.
In the southern hemisphere, Super Rugby has a final round before the international window which sees Angus Gardner looking after the top-of-the-table clash in New Zealand as the best two tournament-rated teams, the Crusaders and Hurricanes, meet on Friday night. Paul Williams is in Buenos Aires where the Jaguares hope to continue their winning streak against the Sharks, while Chiefs v Waratahs is overseen by Glen Jackson. Argentina’s Boli Anselmi, Kiwi Nick Briant and the South African pair of Rasta Rasivhenge and Marius van der Westhuizen also get some whistle time. Elsewhere in Africa, the Rugby Africa tournament kicks off with the Elgon Cup in Kampala as Kenya play Uganda. JD Jadezweni will be the referee.
