24-27 July match official appointments – Lions, women’s, Currie Cup

One of the quieter weekends on the calendar. It’s Andrea Piardi‘s (pictured top left) Lions test match as the Australians will be looking to pull the series level. There’s a big match in Uganda in terms of the winners qualifying to join the RWC27 final qualifying tournament later this year. South African referee, Morne Ferreira (bottom left) will head there on his way home from the US where he’s been on officiating duties in the last few weeks.

In the women’s game, there’s a handful of World Cup warm-up matches in Italy, Australia and Japan. Maggie Cogger-Orr (top right) is over the ditch in Brisbane refereeing the Wallaroos-Wales match up. Her former Kiwi compatriot, Lauren Jenner (now refereeing out of Italy, bottom right) is in Tokyo as Japan host Spain.

Those aside, the other match officials we have for you are in South Africa as the Currie Cup premier league kicks off and continues and the Women’s premier continues. There’s also a couple of ‘Classics’ matches this weekend, on Lions v Aus, and in Wanganui, former-All Black centre, Conrad Smith (right) taking the whistle for the Classic All Blacks v Classic Heartlands XV in Wanganui.
