Amy Perrett appointed World Rugby Women’s Match Officials Development Coach

  • Starts 1 July, working with Alhambra Nievas and Joy Neville to grow and support the match official pathway

World Rugby have confirmed that Amy Perrett has been appointed Women’s Match Officials Development Coach. She is the final piece in the new match officials structure, joining Nievas and new Elite Women’s 15s Match Officials Head Coach, Joy Neville in the new management structure.

In her refereeing career, she whistled 16 international tests, including the Women’s Rugby World Cup 2014 final between England and Canada in France. She also took charge of the first-ever Olympic rugby sevens match at Rio 2016. Amy became the first female to officiate in Super Rugby, first as an AR and then as referee when on 28 August 2020, the Australian refereed the Brumbies’ match against the Western Force.

Perrett joins World Rugby on 1 July moving from a role as head of D&I within Rugby Australia.
