Despite the best efforts of Covid-19, there’s loads of rugby around this weekend. The 6 Nations is back (well, 66% of it is). Rebecca Mahoney and Nic Berry have been saved a 24+ hour flight to Dublin as the Italy games have been postponed. Fellow antipodeans, Ben O’Keeffe and Paul Williams have made the trip, as has Amber Maclachan who makes her 6 Nations debut in England Roses play the visitors from Wales. In Super Rugby, the Sunwolves versus Brumbies is now being played in Australia with Federico Anselmi in charge, while a few hours later the Waratahs host the Chiefs at the same venue. Angus Gardner watches that one.
There’s no Top 14 rugby this weekend, but there’s a full list of Gallagher Premiership. There’s one rescheduled match from the Pro14, giving George Clancy a run out, and out west, the US Major League continues. We’ve got international rugby at stake in the Pacific Challenge, the Rugby Europe championship, and in Canada, the World 7s mens circuit lands for another couple of days.
Finally, we have a couple of Australian Super W matches and a full line up of Scottish club rugby with match officials all gearing up for a storm-free weekend
