Full-time professional referee, Andrew Brace from Ireland is our main guest on episode 14 of the Advantage Over podcast. He talks about his rugby journey from representing Belgium as a scrum half, through to being a Rugby Development Officer in Munster, to taking up the whistle and becoming a full time referee for the IRFU. You’ll see him on Assistant Referee duty throughout the 2019 Six Nations. (interview starts at 5.32)
As well as the Andrew Brace refereeing journey, he goes on to talk about a referee’s life in the PRO14 and as part of the World Rugby group, how we spends time away from rugby, recovering from injury, and some tips for refereeing success!
In the first section of the show, we also hear from Lyndon Bray at Super Rugby outlining their approach to teamwork and the new referee pods they’re operating with this season.
