Referees, ARs and TMO appointments 30 Nov-2 Dec

Ireland’s John Lacey referees his final international this weekend as the Autumn series concludes with the traditional BaaBaas fixture. This year, they play Argentina at Twickenham. Good luck to John as he transition across into a high performance referee development role in 2019.

Elsewhere, the big guns are out in the Gallagher Premiership as they reacclimatise to domestic rugby, and keep their eye in ahead of the next round of European matches. Wayne Barnes, Matt Carley and Luke Pearce return from international duty and with JP Doyle (left) adding his 160th match, there’s plenty of refereeing experience on show. Owens, Gauzere, Poite and Raynal also feature in their ‘home’ tournaments. At the other end of the scale, JD Jadezweni takes charge of his first Pro14 match in Europe (his second overall) as he switches the mid summer sun of South Africa for a wet and windy Welsh evening in Swansea as the Ospreys host Zebre.

Speaking of sun, the 7s brigade are back in action for their first joint 7s tournament with both mens and women in Dubai. We have a new episode of the Advantage Over podcast out tomorrow with Wales’ Craig Evans who talks about finding a balance between 15s and 7s refereeing. Watch out on your favourite podcast host tomorrow

Enjoy your rugby this weekend!
