It’s that exciting time of the year when the global rugby calendar kicks back into increasing force. The Nat West 6 Nations off on Saturday with the women and U20s tournaments also in action. There’s a Rugby World Cup place at stake in the Americas 2 group to join Australia, Wales, Georgia and Fiji in Pool D. The Super Rugby squads are beginning their warm-up matches, and there’s the continuing Northern hemisphere domestic competitions. With some southern hemisphere referees over to officiate in the six nations, some of them get to warm up on foreign soil. Nic Berry from Australia, for example, will be in charge of the Friday night fixture in Northampton as they take on Harlequins in the Anglo-Welsh Cup before he heads over to Italy to AR in their opening match against England.
